Chris 👾<p>Wrapping up my <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/DuneAwakening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DuneAwakening</span></a> Beta Weekend 7/n. I enjoyed my 15h on Arrakis: got to level 19, build 3 bases and a sandspeeder, reached the second area after a very risky trip trough the sand dunes, it's been fun and a thrilling experience. Will I buy the game at release? No. But let's start with the positives:</p><p>- great onboarding journey <br>- very immersive, permanent sense of danger in the desert, well done<br>- very good survival game<br>- UE graphics are excellent<br>- rewarding exploration<br>- sound design - the sandworm is scary AF<br>- tons of stuff to craft<br>- game loop can be quite addictive (personal preference): gather ressources, craft stuff - so you can get even better ressources and craft better stuff...<br>- good base building and crafting - very similiar to <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/NoMansSky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NoMansSky</span></a> except it's in Dune and it's just one desert planet and it's more limited (for now)</p><p>Next and last part will be the cons and why you probably don't want to pre-order before the final release reviews are in.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Dune" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Dune</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gaming</span></a></p>
